The ECMS Jr. STARS competed at two different UIL One Act Play Festivals with their production of James and The Giant Peach. Each cast brought home multiple awards & honors, and ECMS is VERY proud of these students for competing at TWO contests for the first time ever!!!
On Tuesday, December 5th, ECMS won FIRST PLACE PLAY overall at Edna High School, competing against five area junior high schools. The tech crew also won BEST ALL STAR CREW OVERALL at this contest. Individual acting awards were: Olivia Wenglar, Best Technician; the Ensemble, Honorable Mention Cast; Justin Ortiz as Narrator, All Star Cast; Cash Chisum as James, All Star Cast; and Armand Markwordt earned OVERALL BEST PERFORMER honors as the Centipede.
On Thursday, December 7th, ECMS won SECOND PLACE PLAY OVERALL at Industrial High School, competing against six area junior high schools. Individual acting awards were: Jaxson O'Canas, Best Technician; Caitlyn Nanson as Aunt Sponge, Honorable Mention Cast; Nick Fernandez as Centipede, Honorable Mention Cast; Jackson Wortham as Narrator, All Star Cast; and Jeremy Garza as James, All Star Cast.
