The students in Mrs. Jensen's Pre - K class have turned their dramatic play and construction centers into a pumpkin patch. They started last week with background building, reading about a pumpkin patch and then talking about what they can see, hear, play, do and eat! Then the prop building began! Students helped make the hot drink machine, popcorn machine and popcorn, caramel apples, cookies, pumpkins, dirt, hay bales, and they glued leaves on the apple trees. Soon they will be painting a Corn maze.
This week they were finally able to play in the centers. We are incorporating math, literacy, and fine motor with our play. The students took on the roles of farmer, customer, and snack shop worker.
