**WINTER WEATHER WATCH** We are actively monitoring the weather for next week. The present forecast calls for cold temperatures with a slight chance of freezing precipitation. We expect to be in school on Tuesday and Wednesday at this time so please have your children dress accordingly. If something changes that would impact the safety of our students and staff we will let you know through our parent contact system by email, text message, and/or phone call. As always, you can also monitor the District's website & social media accounts for the latest information. ⭐Please take this time to update your Family Access contact information in Skyward which ensures that you receive messages from your campus and the District including emails and text messages.

5th grade Parents -
This is a reminder about tonight’s Middle School Showcase at 6pm. We invite you to attend and tour electives for next year. Your child will also register for next years classes. The AVID informational meeting scheduled for 5:30pm has been cancelled but will be rescheduled at a later date. We look forward to meeting you and your student at the 6pm Showcase!

ECMS Counselors and the AVID teacher spoke to 5th graders about the Elective Showcase, tomorrow, 1/11 at 6 PM at ECMS. There will be an AVID informational meeting at 5:30. All current 5th graders are encouraged to attend to register for 2024-2025 classes.

Monday, January 15th, is a federal holiday. District and campus offices will be closed.

Attention 5th Graders!
Make plans to attend the ECMS 6th Grade Showcase on Thursday, January 11th, from 6-7pm. This is for current 5th graders to tour the ECMS campus, visit elective classes, and register for their 24-25 6th grade elective classes.

The Northside Library sponsored a Book Character Christmas Ornament contest where the students created ornaments to represent book characters. Awards were given for numerous categories. Bria C. won Best of Show for her creation of On Account of the Gum, and Mia V. won Student Choice for Stitch. All winners chose a book from the book vending machine.




REMINDER: Students kick off Winter Break with an early release on Wednesday, December 20th. Winter break is December 21 - January 7. Classes resume January 8th.

Ms. Dorris at Northside had guest reader, Kathy Smith, visit her class and read different versions of “Twas the Night Before Christmas”. The kids were all ears, comparing and contrasting the tales. To wrap it up, the students went full-on author mode, crafting their very own version of the story!

Get ready to be dazzled by the festive Christmas parade tonight! Come out and hear the rocking Ricebird Band, see the Derby Dolls marching in style, the cheerleaders bringing their A-game, and the Choir spreading holiday cheer! Don't miss out! The parade starts at 7 pm.

Come out to the ECISD Winter Choir Concert this evening! ECHS auditorium, 5:00. See performances by the Sixth Grade Choir, the Seventh & Eighth Grade Choir, and the High School Choir.
