ECISD Special Education Department presents "Ricebird Field Day 2024" featuring the SPED students of Step II, Life Skills and Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) programs. Parents, come out and watch the kids enjoy a variety of events at Ricebird Stadium! 📅 Thursday, March 28th ⌚ Opening Ceremony @ 9:30 am ⭐Please sit in the home side stands for the opening ceremony. Spectators are invited onto the field to watch events after the conclusion of the opening ceremony. Park in the back lot behind the weight room off of Pecan Street. Lunch will be provided to students and staff after the games. ***If it is raining, we will move Field Day into the practice gym. The times will change, and parents will need to stay in the bleachers as there is not enough room on the gym floor for everyone. El Campo will be from 9:00-10:15, and East Bernard, Rice, and Wharton will be from 10:30-11:40.

At the Boys’ State Powerlifting Meet, all the Ricebirds hit their personal bests, but Aidan Garcia walked away with some hardware placing 5th in his weight class. He squatted 570, benched 405, and deadlifted 550 totaling 1,525 at 163 body weight!

Students in the ECHS Health Science Phlebotomy Program are working to get their license to draw blood as a Phlebotomist. The students need community volunteers to help reach their required 30 successful venipuncture sticks. All participants will be entered into a drawing to win Visa gift cards ranging in value from $50 - $300. One entry per stick! Days: April 10, 16, 22, 23, and May 1.
