Catch them in action on May 14th at the University of Texas. Maddie starts us off at 10:45 AM, followed by evening runs from Ava and Maddie starting at 5:20 PM.

Mr. Burton was “ballooned” with love from students and staff at Hutchins for Principal Appreciation Day. We are grateful for his leadership, dedication, encouragement and support, and appreciate everything he does day in and day out to support our school. Thank you Mr. Burton!

80 members of ECHS HOSA traveled to Victoria, TX, to check out the A&M campus. Students were given a full tour of all the buildings and amenities the campus offers. They were also able to speak with an admissions counselor about the crossover nursing program between WCJC and UV-A&M. The day ended with lunch and a little shopping at the mall!

The Wharton County Youth Fair Scholarship Foundation awarded $110,000 in scholarships this evening to the youth of Wharton Co. The Ricebirds were awarded $37,550 from the foundation and additional memorial scholarships foundations. We are grateful that Wharton County Youth Fair has donors and sponsors that truly invest in our youth and their education. A big shout-out and thank you to Marnie Moller from the ECMH Lab Department! She came to speak to Mrs. Hopper’s theory class today. Students learned about the education required to become a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or lab assistant, as well as what a typical day looks like working in a lab.
