School districts do not receive state funding for building schools or making major renovations and instead must use voter-approved bonds which help pay for large projects that get paid back over time, like a mortgage. School districts in Texas have two budgets. Maintenance & Operations (M&O) funds pay for day-to-day operations. Interest & Sinking (I&S) funds pay for capital improvements. Funding for each budget is primarily provided by local tax dollars from property values calculated by pennies collected per $100 of property value. Learn more at www.ecisd.org/bond2025

El Campo ISD’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) facilities are outdated, with undersized classrooms that limit capacity. CTE participation has grown by 9% over the last three years, with enrollment expected to continue increasing. Currently, ECISD offers 10 programs of study, four dual credit CTE courses, and 12 industry-based certifications that prepare students for in-demand careers. Proposition A would expand and renovate CTE facilities to accommodate the growing enrollment in welding, carpentry, auto tech, and cosmetology programs. Learn more at www.ecisd.org/bond2025

The high school cafeteria does not have enough space for all students, leading to off-campus lunch for sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Even with three grades leaving campus, freshmen still exceed available seating. The overcrowding also creates scheduling challenges across the campus. Proposition A would double the cafeteria’s capacity to accommodate 500 students. Learn more at www.ecisd.org/bond2025
