First-year floral students had the opportunity to truly celebrate fall with their mum flowers and pumpkin containers. They had fun cleaning their pie-sized pumpkins—many had never done this before—to create their unique containers.

Our little Ricebirds loved their first RIF party of the school year!
RIF (Reading is Fundamental) is put on by El Campo’s Sesame Club. These wonderful ladies put on a presentation of the story, "Click, Clack, Moo: Cows that Type" by Doreen Cronin. Students also reviewed personification, which means animals are given human characteristics, actions, or emotions in a story.
To complete the party, students were given a book to keep for their home library! Thanks Sesame Club of EC!
A&M Kingsville is commemorating its 100th anniversary and visited ECHS to honor Senior Allison Vallejo as one of the first 100 students admitted!

Go Birds! 📣🎓🏀🏈
Last week we shared some cosmetology fun with foam mannequins and plastic jugs where students had to get creative with behind-the-scenes movie work and find ways to achieve balance in their designs. Well, here are the winners!
The El Campo Literacy Advocates of Rotary recently visited all the kindergarten classes, where each student was gifted a copy of Richard Scarry's "Best Word Book Ever". These books will be used throughout the school year to help students practice reading and writing. At the end of the year, each student will be able to take their book home to keep. The excitement was contagious, and all the students were thrilled to receive this special gift!
Some seriously spooky designs were created in advanced floral design last week!
Mrs. Bennetsen's advanced classes presented a mock trial based on The Tell-Tale Heart, where students took on the roles of either the defense or prosecution, examining the guilt or innocence of the narrator. The narrator claims he’s not insane, even though he admits to killing the old man because of his "evil eye." The prosecution will argue that the narrator is guilty of murder, using his words and actions as evidence of his intentions. The defense, on the other hand, will try to prove he was driven by madness and, therefore, was not fully responsible for his actions. Through this trial, students gathered evidence, prepared arguments, and cross-examined witnesses to explore the narrator’s mental state and motives.
