Mrs. Kacer's medical terminology class put their knowledge into practice with range of motion exercises.

Mrs. Wenglar’s class at ECHS has been busy exploring geography and science. The students made their own landform books and experimented with chemical reactions using lemon volcanoes!

Northside held a Powerzone Challenge for the month of September. Teachers were encouraged to focus on circulating the room during instruction and using proximity to get instant feedback from students. Teachers, admin, and support staff observed and affirmed each other throughout the month to fill out their bingo board. Pictured above are the three winners of the challenge: Jeanine Stehling, Rosalind Barnes, and Kristina Lee.

Ricebird Homecoming 2025 was outstanding. Thank you to Student Council sponsors Audrey Woods and Caroline Owen, Cheer sponsor Terese Tompkins, and Derby Doll sponsor Jenna Zabodyn for all of their efforts. Students were able to enjoy a great pep rally with an expanded Homecoming court, a tailgate on Friday, and the first Homecoming dance in over 30 years.

🎉 Here is your 2025 Homecoming Queen Chloe Herzik and King Kylon Taylor!

Flashback a short 10 years to Homecoming 2015 - Remember when Sky Garcia was crowned the Queen? It was the year when dabbing became popular, and the most searched costume idea that year was Harley Quinn, the crazed female supervillain from "Suicide Squad." And, don't forget about a dress that broke the internet....was it white and gold or blue and black????

Mrs. House’s class participated in music centers where they explored pitch using metallophones, xylophones, and handbells. Each student became a composer by creating music with icon note cards. After composing, they clapped out the rhythms they had created. Additionally, they built jack-o'-lanterns while singing the song "Pumpkin, Pumpkin."

Mrs. Poenitzsch and her Culinary Arts students were special guests of the El Campo Rotary Club, where they presented their program and showcased their brand-new food truck, “Bird Feeder.”

Flashback two decades to 2005, when Brittany Faas and Michael Enriquez smiled for a photo after being crowned Homecoming King and Queen. Other nominees included Cassidy Popp, Bethany Dluhos, Lauren Wells, John Fitch, Travis Krenek, and Troy Banks.
This year also marked the debut of popular shows such as Deal or No Deal, Cash Cab, and Dancing with the Stars. Carrie Underwood won American Idol, while Hurricanes Katrina and Rita devastated the Gulf Coast. The Houston Astros made their first appearance in the World Series, YouTube was just starting to gain traction, and MySpace reigned as the leading social networking site. Meanwhile, everyone had their eyes on the coveted Motorola RAZR cellphone.

Flashback 30 years to the Class of 1996's Homecoming... "and the Homecoming Queen is Sandi Srubar!" The court included Sara Beery, Valerie Roye, and Sabrina Hensley.
Back in 1995, the lunch discussion centered around the events of the previous night's episodes of ER, Seinfeld, Friends, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. It was a time when the Atlanta Braves celebrated their World Series victory, and the Dallas Cowboys were aiming to secure their third Super Bowl ring.
On the technology front, Bill Gates unveiled the new operating system, Windows 95, and America's fascination with the Internet surged, marked by dial-up connections to Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer, which signaled the beginning of the dot-com era. Can you hear that strange sound now?
