El Campo WIT (Workforce Industry Training) students started off the year with a trip to Texas State University-San Marcos. After touring the campus, students enjoyed an educational and FUN trip to The Meadow Center. Students enjoyed the glass bottom boats and a tour of Spring Lake wetlands. Students were able to participate in an environmental program where they got a concrete background in understanding the impact of exotic species on diverse ecosystems and endangered species, as well as the effect of pollution on a habitat. Students conducted macroinvertebrate testing at a location on Sink Creek which feeds into Spring Lake. They worked hard for this certification! #CTE

Students in Mrs. Wilson's floral design class turned a pumpkin into a floral container for their fall arrangement. Students got the opportunity to learn how to cover up their mechanics while making a well-balanced arrangement based on principles and elements of design.

Thanks to all who donated to the Anchor Club's food drive last week!

Congratulations to these Math Fact Whiz Kids from Hutchins Elementary!

HOSA would like to thank the City Development Corporation of El Campo, which recently sponsored 25 students to attend the Area 2 Fall Leadership Conference. Students were able to attend breakout sessions such as stress management, financial planning for college, NICU nursing, and Stop the Bleed just to name a few.
Our students also participated in the face painting and photo booth fundraisers for Be The Match. El Campo High School was recognized as the biggest contributor to these events.

Shout out to our sub-varsity football teams for their outstanding performance this fall! Freshman football clinched the "District Champs" title and JV achieved a top 2 finish in district. Way to go Ricebird Football!

Join us this evening for an Internet Safety Series presented by YK Communications. These free community events will teach parents about Internet Safety, Content Monitoring, Parental Controls, and Cyberbully Prevention. Did you know 71% of tweens experience cyberbullying? That's 100% too much. Be in the know. Not in the dark. Today, November 7th, at 5:30 pm in the El Campo Middle School Cafeteria.
Kinder studied light energy in science. Did you know light is the only energy we can see? Here's Mrs. Treme's class showing off the suncatchers they made in the science lab.
They also earned the incentive of pajama day by following their social contract. How awesome!

Hutchins' halls were buzzing with excitement as Ricky and the Ricebird Cheerleaders swooped in to visit first grade! First-graders took the crown for the best attendance during October!

The National Association of School Psychologists has designated November 6–10, 2023, to be National School Psychology Week.
School psychologists partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community. They apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior to help children and youth succeed socially, behaviorally, emotionally, and academically. They are also important members of school safety and crisis teams. As stated by Dr. Andrea Clyne, President of the NASP, “School psychologists bring a rich and unique set of skills to their school communities. They are champions for children, families, and schools, working hard to apply their knowledge about mental health, learning, equity, and systems to address challenges that thwart progress.”
Thank you to our School Psychologists, Annie Cain, Shannon Fuechec, Bailey Bustamante, and Amy Bailey for all you do for El Campo ISD!
