Flashback a short 10 years to Homecoming 2013 - Remember when Shaqueela Ellis and BJ Flagg were crowned the Queen and King!?! They were on the ballot with Alexis Crowell, Alyssa Stanford, Shelby Stary, Elizabeth Gallardo, Koy Kresta, Ryan Drapela, and Abraham Montes. Were you watching "The Vampire Diaries", "Pretty Little Liars", "Teen Wolf", or "The Walking Dead"? And, did you know all the words to "Royals", "Blurred Lines", or "Radioactive"?

Students in Mrs. Zahn’s advanced floral design classes created homecoming mums and garters for Life Skills students across ECISD. It was a joyful day for everyone involved!

Students worked to complete homecoming mums in Ms. Wilson's Floral Design classes.



ECMS Homecoming Festivities: Friday before school and during lunch, the Student Council will sell $1 tattoos for RED OUT day in the main gym and cafeteria. Friday 3:30 - 5:30 is the 2nd Annual Tailgate party on campus. Free admission and each kid gets a hot dog, chips, and drink. Other snacks will be for sale. Go Ricebirds!

📺 Everyone was watching "The O.C.", "One Tree Hill", and "Gilmore Girls", 🎤singing every word of "In Da Club", "Crazy in Love", and "Hey Ya!', and rocking their low-rise jeans and flip phones!

Students in the Education and Training program are learning about intra-personal communication. They have an understanding that as future educators, how we speak to ourselves will eventually translate into how we speak to our students.
To celebrate homecoming week, they each made a positive affirmation mum. Positive affirmations help build us up and improve our confidence, even when things are difficult.

🍦Learning can be delicious! Myatt had a fun science experiment. They explored how liquids can magically transform into solids by making their very own ice cream!
It was amazing to see their faces light up as they mixed the ingredients and watched the mixture freeze into a creamy treat.

HELLO! Sixth grade students wave for "Hello Week" at ECMS. The students sat with others wearing the same color shirt, as a way to meet new people and say, "Hello!" The Interact Club provided each table with a list of conversation starters.

📚 On their first trip to the Myatt Library, Mrs. Pustejovsky’s Pre-K class enjoyed listening to Ms. Marcial read "Mr. Wiggles", who taught them about respecting the library and how to take care of the books. library.

In Cross Country news, congratulations to Corbin Garcia who placed 8th in the 3 mile at the Royal Invitational meet with a time of 18:53, and to Mayleigh Martinez who placed 13th in the 2 mile at the Rattler Invitational with a time of 14:08!

The high school cheerleaders will sell Homecoming ribbons for $3 each at all elementary campuses on Wednesday & Thursday this week!
Students in Ms. Hlavinka's Education and Training Program created their own version of the ideal effective teacher.
They had to identify things an effective teacher says, sees, and hears. They also had to list the positive qualities of an effective teacher.
